Willows Lodge

I've played solo acoustic sing-along style shows at Willows Lodge now about four times and I've enjoyed the location and the audience it so much that I may be signing on to play there twice a month. I play some of my tunes and some of my favorite classic rock hits from groups like The Eagles, The Beatles, Seeger, Springsteen, Petty, and more.  I've even done Bieber a couple of times when the under 20 crowd shows up...but don't tell anybody.

Outdoor seating at Fireside Cellars
Come out if you get a chance.  It's a beautiful location at Fireside Cellars...and outside on the patio when it's nice out.  It's FREE, family friendly, the food and drinks are wonderful, and the wait staff shows up with smiles on their faces.

Joe Tiller Honors Dinner

Events

Honors Dinner
Capping off our busy spring again this year is our marquee event, the Honors Dinner "Celebrating Our Legends VIII" on June 21 at the Purdue Memorial Union.

Highlighting the dinner this year, in addition to the announcement of the Scholar-Athlete of the Year, will be the induction into the Indiana Football Hall of Fame for Joe Tiller, Frank O'Shea and Tom Ransom. Officials from the Hall of Fame (which is located in Richmond) will be on hand to conclude the ceremony.

Tiller, the founder of this chapter and now a resident of Buffalo, Wyo., is being inducted as the all-time victory leader in the history of Purdue football. O'Shea is a long-time and highly-successful high school coach who is currently serving as an assistant to his son Kevin O'Shea, the head coach of the three-time defending state champion Knights of Lafayette Central Catholic. Ransom, who is chairman of the board of Kramer Lumber Company in Frankfort, has been a football official since 1965, including 30 years with the Big Ten Conference (21 years on the field, seven in the replay booth and two years as on observer).

Drew Brees, one of Coach Tiller's first recruits who led Purdue to the Rose Bowl in 2001 and the current quarterback of the New Orleans Saints, will help to honor his coach via video, but will be unable to attend this year's dinner. Drew has been a guest speaker and presenter at each of the first seven dinners.

Also at this dinner, Indiana Football Coaches Association will recognize Arnette Tiller, Joe's wife, for her special service to football.

Each year the Tiller chapter honors individuals from the region with its Distinguished American Award, the Bernie Flowers Outstanding Contribution to Amateur Football Award, the Drew Brees Mental Toughness Award, and the Citizenship Award. The chapter also awards its Gold Medallion on special occasions. All previous award winners are being invited back this year to take part in the VIP Reception and Honors Dinner.

Table prices are the same as last year for a table of eight ($400 for general public, $320 for NFF chapter members and honorees' families, and $280 for students). Single tickets are $55 for public, $45 for members and $35 for students. VIP Reception tickets are $200 each.

To participate in any of these events and to place your ticket orders, please contact Jim Vruggink by email atjvruggink@purdue.edu or by phone at 765-427-3303 or submit an order by mail using the order form in the chapter's March 2012 Newsletter.

CD story

After some travel time back to Indiana and Florida it is great to back in the PNW...especially when I see the sun peeking through here and there. My second album "Genuine" is in production as we speak! It will be in hand on May 14 and for sale at Kirkland Performance Center where the band and I will get our "Lockout Rockout" going. Below is the KPC site to get your tickets

http://www.kpcenter.org/performances/craig-terrill-kara-grainger

The album will also be available through a pre-sale special link on this site, online at Itunes, CD Baby, and www.craigterrill.com -- which is the myspace page (if I can figure out how to work the new MySpace layouts). You can also just yell at me if you see me walking around. I'll carry some with me at all times. Quick CD story....Matt Hasselbeck was gonna be on the Jay Leno show back in 2008 so I gave him a handful of CD's of my first album to pass out to the right Hollywood people. (I'm really a Letterman guy) Nevertheless he was more than happy to take them with him as we were leaving the Seahawks facility for the day. As I pulled my truck out of the player's parking lot I realized that Matt was in the car in front of me. He stopped to sign autographs for a group of Hawk fans who had gathered right outside of the facility. He then proceeded to hand out every CD that I had just entrusted in him laughing in his review as he pulled away. Classic Matt.

Here are some other cool things that are coming up:

Craig Terrill Band will be on the new Bob Rivers Show on Weds May 11th. This is the first time the full band has ever done a radio appearance together. Should be pretty cool, or fail miserably. Tune in to find out!

I was just on New Day Northwest the other morning playing a tune off the new album. Here's the link,

Rachel and I along with Pete Moran from Rezin Marketing are putting together a CD release party as we speak. Stay tuned for more info...it will be a memorable night to say the least.

Headed back to Eastlake Church this Sunday after being out of town for too long.

That is all for now, hope everyone is doing well! Next blog will be about our mission trip to El Salvador last Feb.
